Politics and Institutions Unit

The Dondena Politics and Institutions (P&I) unit conducts and promotes research on collective decision-making and non-market social interactions. The group is interdisciplinary and brings together scholars who conduct quantitative research in political science, political economics, public policy, and related disciplines. Research focuses on the following areas:

  • The economic effects of constitutions
  • Elections and political behaviour
  • Information, mass media, and transparency
  • Corruption, accountability, and the costs of democracy
  • Conflict and institutions to deal with it
  • The political economy of redistribution
